Born from a dropped video call at 8,000 feet.
Like millions of remote engineers, designers, writers, and entrepreneurs, we dreamed of breaking free from the concrete confines of Mumbai, Bengaluru, and Delhi. We wanted to wake up to crisp pine breezes, crystal-clear Himalayan skies, and authentic local food — without leaving our jobs behind.
Yet every attempt to work remotely was a game of roulette. High-star hotel reviews hid unstable 4G dongles. Homestays promised “fast Wi-Fi,” only for the power to collapse mid-presentation. Wide-angle photos masked loud highways, and party hostels made deep thinking impossible.
We realized that modern workations weren’t failing because people didn’t want to travel. They were failing because travel platforms were built for weekend sightseers, not people who need to get serious work done between walks in the woods.
